Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group

KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Global Executive & Private Client Group. This internship offers multifaceted engagements, formal training, and informal mentoring opportunities to support career development. The role involves providing support on a variety of tasks related to international tax implications for high-profile clients.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting clients in analyzing the tax implications of international work and filing income tax returns in multiple jurisdictions. This includes preparing Federal and State individual income tax returns, analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits, and identifying opportunities for global tax planning to minimize tax costs.
• Assisting corporations with establishing operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
• Helping clients determine appropriate compensation packages for internationally assigned executives and supporting the global payroll process, ensuring compliance with relevant country laws.
• Providing global coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients in managing their global mobility programs, including implementing relevant processes and technologies.
• Assisting Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Developing capabilities in key technologies used for client service delivery (AI, Alteryx, Power BI).

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have remaining academic credits to complete their degree and/or CPA eligibility requirements.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese (preferred).
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; ability to work as a flexible and adaptable team player.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to the office and have access to personal transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship (preferred).
