Job Description: Tax Intern – Global Executive & Private Client Group
KPMG is seeking a Tax Intern for its Global Executive & Private Client Group. The role involves supporting clients in various aspects of international tax planning and compliance. Responsibilities include:
• International Tax Support: Analyzing the tax implications of international work, preparing Federal and State individual income tax returns, analyzing and utilizing foreign tax credits and tax treaties, and identifying global tax planning opportunities to minimize tax costs.
• Corporate International Expansion: Assisting corporations in setting up operations in new countries, ensuring compliance with applicable tax and social tax requirements.
• Executive Compensation: Determining appropriate compensation packages for executives on international assignments, supporting global payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws in multiple locations.
• Global Mobility Program Support: Providing coordination and support to KPMG’s corporate clients on all aspects of global mobility programs, including implementing processes and technologies for managing global workforces.
• Engagement Administration: Assisting Associates and Senior Associates with engagement administration and scoping efforts.
• Technology Development: Building capabilities in key technologies used in client service delivery, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Alteryx, and Power BI.
Qualifications:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, International Business, Human Resources, or Finance (or equivalent).
• Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Upon internship completion, candidates must have remaining academic credits before degree completion and/or CPA eligibility.
• Bilingual in English and Japanese (preferred).
• Ability to analyze basic tax and accounting information.
• Demonstrated quality service mindset, strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
• Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills. Must be a flexible and adaptable team player, resourceful in delivering high-quality work.
• Ability to learn and utilize technologies like AI, Alteryx, and Power BI.
• Must reside within reasonable commuting distance to the office and be able to travel to work locations using personal transportation.
• Ability to travel to client premises as needed, sometimes on short notice.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is preferred.
