Accounting Intern | Mishimoto

The Tone:
This is an on-site internship at Mishimoto, located in Garnet Valley, PA. Mishimoto designs engineered solutions, primarily performance cooling products, to empower automotive enthusiasts, enabling them to push their vehicles further with confidence. This role is crucial for supporting the daily operations of the Finance & Accounting team, providing an intern with hands-on experience and a chance to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to a Senior Accountant and works closely with cross-functional teams.
• Mission: Assists the Finance & Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial data.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, NetSuite, ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Process accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice entry, payment processing, and reconciliation.
• Support monthly and annual financial closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Maintain the general ledger to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare financial reports, summaries, and presentations for management review.
• Conduct research and analysis on financial data, variances, and trends as directed by the Senior Accountant.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (sophomore standing or above preferred), with completion of introductory accounting coursework. This is an Entry-Level role.
• Experience: Prior internship, part-time work, or coursework-related experience in an accounting or finance setting is a plus, though not required.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables); strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy; analytical thinking and numerical aptitude; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines; strong written and verbal communication.
• Bonus: Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks or NetSuite; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP); interest in obtaining a CPA license; familiarity with the automotive or e-commerce industry.
