What You’ll Actually Do
• Department Support: Provide essential support to the tax department, contributing to its overall efficiency and operational goals.
• Document Preparation: Methodically prepare various tax documents for both corporate and individual clients, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Document Review: Assist in the thorough review of tax documents, cross-referencing information and identifying any discrepancies.
• Tax Research: Conduct detailed research on federal, state, and local tax regulations to support compliance and planning efforts.
• Compliance Assurance: Actively contribute to ensuring stringent adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field, or enrolled in an MBA program with an Accounting track. This foundational academic background is essential for understanding tax principles.
• Experience: Currently holding Junior or Senior year academic standing in an undergraduate program, or an MBA Candidate, indicating a developed understanding of core business and accounting concepts.
• Skills: Demonstrates excellent interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration within teams and with professionals, along with strong computer proficiency necessary for utilizing tax software and various office applications.
• Bonus: A preferred academic achievement reflected by a GPA of 3.0 or higher, the flexibility to work a minimum of 20 to 40 hours per week depending on office needs, and the practical ability to commute reliably to one of Withum’s designated office locations.
