Job Description:
This internship offers a unique opportunity to join Deloitte’s Tax Consulting team, specializing in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). As an intern, you’ll be involved in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, gaining firsthand experience in the world of tax consulting.
Responsibilities:
• Research: Analyze complex tax technical issues and provide solutions.
• Tax Due Diligence: Assist clients with due diligence on M&A transactions.
• Tax Structuring: Help develop optimal tax structures for mergers and acquisitions.
• Tax Modeling: Create and utilize tax models to assess potential tax impacts of transactions.
• Client Interaction: Engage with clients across various industries, gaining exposure to diverse organizations.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with experienced tax professionals in a team setting.
• Problem-solving: Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex tax issues.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Juris Doctor (JD).
• CPA/Bar Exam: Must have plans to meet minimum educational requirements for the CPA exam or Bar exam.
• Academic Performance: Strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.0, preferably 3.2 or higher).
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Prioritization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments effectively.
• Travel: Willingness to travel up to 50% (on average).
• Hybrid Work Model: Ability to work in a hybrid model that requires US Tax professionals to be in the office 2-3 days per week.
• Technology: Familiarity with technology and related coursework is highly desirable.
• Work Experience: Relevant work experience (internships, summer positions, etc.) is a plus.
Compensation:
The wage range for this role is $27 to $50 per hour, and will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and location.
