Job Description:

This internship opportunity offers a chance to gain valuable experience in the field of tax consulting with a focus on Japanese services. As a Deloitte Tax Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals to help clients analyze complex tax decisions, reduce tax rates, and achieve their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the tax team: Perform research and analysis, contribute to developing solutions for complex tax issues, and utilize cutting-edge technology.
Consult with clients: Provide actionable solutions based on research and analysis, gaining valuable experience interacting with a variety of organizations.
Develop crucial skills: Prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects in a team environment (both in-person and virtually), apply problem-solving skills, and demonstrate strong communication skills (verbal and written).

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration or Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation.
Academic Performance: Strong academic track record with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in Japanese language.
CPA Eligibility: Definitive plans to meet minimum educational requirements for CPA eligibility in the state of your assigned office location.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 50% on average, depending on client needs.
Hybrid Work Model: Ability to work in a hybrid work model requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week.
Technology Background: Technology-related coursework is highly desirable.
Relevant Experience: Prior work experience such as internships, summer positions, or school jobs is preferred.
Commitment: The internship starts in Summer 2025 and candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
