The Tone:
This is a 12-week paid summer internship at Integrated DNA Technologies, located on-site in Fargo, ND. Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), an operating company of Danaher, specializes in life sciences, diagnostics, and biotechnology, with a vision to accelerate genomics breakthroughs and help researchers rapidly move from the lab to life-changing advances. The Accounting Intern will contribute to the daily financial operations of a company whose work saves lives, united by a commitment to innovate for tangible impact across fields like cancer, infectious disease, and rare genetic disorders. By assisting with process efficiencies, automation, and compliance, this role directly supports IDT’s mission to shape a healthier, brighter future.

The TL;DR

• Location: In-person Fargo, ND
• Pay: $28 hourly
• Team: Accounting team, reports to Sr. Manager of Finance or Director of Accounting
• Mission: Assist with daily accounting operations, implement process efficiencies and automation, and support audits and compliance with internal controls.
• Tech Stack: ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, other Office applications

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist with daily accounting operations, working hands-on with ERP systems and gaining exposure to accounting practices.
• Collaborate with departments such as Finance, Procurement, and Operations to identify and implement process efficiencies and automation.
• Support audits and help maintain compliance with internal controls, including assisting with SOX testing.
• Contribute to month-end close activities and perform account reconciliations.
• Engage in accounting projects designed to increase efficiencies and automation within the department.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or a related field. Entry-Level.
• Experience: No prior professional accounting experience is explicitly required.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
