Tax / Audit Intern – Winter 2028 – Madison, WI | CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Preparation: Prepares individual, corporate, partnership, and various other types of tax returns in accordance with established procedures.
• Assurance Services: Performs audit, review, compilation, and other essential assurance services for clients.
• Engagement Management: Supports multiple client engagements, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget, identifying issues, and communicating progress effectively.
• Research & Special Projects: Completes assigned research tasks and undertakes special projects as needed to support client needs and firm initiatives.
• Client & Team Communication: Communicates effectively and regularly with clients and CLA family members to foster strong relationships and ensure smooth project execution.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level internship for individuals working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: No specific years of experience required; however, candidates must possess a general knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting, and a willingness to learn new technologies. Reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client sites are also necessary.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is required, along with achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam per state requirements.
• Bonus: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
