The Tone:

Interns will play a supportive role in tax planning, preparation, and compliance, directly contributing to client satisfaction and the firm’s commitment to high professional standards.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Tax Planning & Preparation: Gain an understanding and assist in planning multiple tax assignments across various industries like Real Estate, Construction, Healthcare, and Manufacturing, then prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, C corporations, S corporations, and individuals.
• Compliance & Audits: Develop crucial tax compliance knowledge and provide support for IRS audits, aid in responding to tax notices, and assist with the preparation of trust returns, gift returns, and estate returns.
• Client Engagement: Participate in client assignments from beginning to end, developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with client staff to increase customer satisfaction and strengthen client relationships.
• Accounting Services: Prepare compilations, reviews, and audits for clients across multiple industries, offering a well-rounded accounting experience.
• Professional Development: Maintain and comply with the highest degree of professional standards, client confidentiality, and personal conduct, while also assisting with training and mentoring junior associates and interns on tax methodology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Working towards a Bachelor’s degree, indicating an Entry-Level career stage.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required for this internship role.
• Skills: Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research, and project management skills; demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization; ability to multi-task, think independently, and problem solve in a results-driven team environment; strong computer and technical skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software.
• Bonus: Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field; CPA eligibility with a strong desire to obtain certification; an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher; prior internship experience in accounting or a related field; and basic knowledge of GAAP, Taxation compliance, codes, and regulations.
