About Company
The company, Tallgrass, operates in the Oil and Gas and Green Energy sectors. Its IEC (Instrumentation, Electrical, and Control) Engineers Department provides support for instrumentation, electrical, and control systems. This includes design, programming, commissioning, and day-to-day troubleshooting of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces). As a Tallgrass Intern, you would contribute to bringing vision and opportunity to the forefront, partnering with various departments to support multiple projects on existing assets and operations, as well as the exploration and development of new avenues.
Job Description, Detailed
This is a temporary full-time internship for Summer 2026, running from May to August for 10 weeks, located in-person/hybrid at the Lakewood office.
What you will do:
As an intern with the IEC team, you will work alongside experienced professionals, contributing to diverse work teams. You will partner with various departments to support multiple projects related to existing assets, operations, and the exploration of new opportunities. The internship aims to develop your work skills and knowledge, bridging your educational goals with career objectives.
Specifically, you can expect to:
• Learn about Instrumentation, Electrical, and Controls by assisting the IEC team in deploying and supporting industrial automation control systems, including PLCs and HMIs.
• Assist with projects focused on implementing new control systems and upgrading existing infrastructure.
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting and gain practical experience with PLCs, instrumentation, and electrical gear.
• Develop a deep understanding of HMI applications and Python programming by helping to manage and improve a company-wide standard library of programming objects and templates.

What you will bring (Qualifications):
Education:
• Student actively enrolled in an approved Engineering (electrical preferred) degree program.
• Expected graduation date between December 2025 and December 2027.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• A passion for innovation and problem-solving, coupled with a continuous drive to improve processes.
• The ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications and platforms.

Compensation And Other Benefits:
• Pay Range: $27.12 – $31.01 USD hourly.
• You may be eligible for a stipend to subsidize housing costs.
• The final pay for this role will depend on various factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and working location.
• The total compensation package may also include overtime pay, paid time off, a housing stipend, and more.
