Systems, Integration and Software Engineer Intern

The Transportation Solution Division within the Leidos Civil group is seeking Systems, Integration and Software Engineer Interns to join a dynamic team working on critical Air Traffic Management programs.

About the Role

As an intern, you will be a member of a team contributing to cutting-edge projects that are integral to the future of air transportation. These programs include:

  • En-Route Automation Modernization (ERAM): The core of the Next Generation Air Transportation System, providing the foundation for NexGen functions and the pulse of the National Airspace System.
  • Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM): A tower-based system designed to improve surface management and electronic flight strips.
  • Investment Research and Development (IRAD) projects: Supporting the Brand New Air Traffic Control System.
  • SkyLine-X™: Delivering advanced air traffic management capabilities to enhance aircraft safety, performance, and efficiency across global airspace.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have some exposure to system engineering, software engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Your tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with system architecture and system concept development.
  • Contributing to requirements engineering and operational/decision analysis.
  • Supporting systems definition and system risk management.
  • Assisting with requirements baseline management.
  • Supporting the development of design and coding of program software, utilizing Object Oriented programming concepts, XML, Javascript, C, C++, Java, and Python.

Qualifications

To be considered for this internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program in a relevant discipline, such as engineering or computer science.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a public trust clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range: $40,300.00 – $72,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
