Systems Engineer – Unmanned & Future Combatant Systems | General Dynamics Mission Systems

The Tone:

This role is crucial for contributing to the systems engineering of the organization’s Future Combatants and Mission Systems within a cross-functional team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Systems Engineering Leadership: Lead and execute systems engineering efforts for Future Combatants and Mission Systems.
• Design Verification: Develop and perform test procedures, ensuring requirements-based design and system verification.
• Lifecycle Management: Collaborate within cross-functional teams to support the product lifecycle from pre-proposal activities to post-delivery support.
• Sensor System Integration: Interface with and integrate various sensors, utilizing sensor data effectively in applications.
• Tool Proficiency: Apply specialized requirements management and system modeling tools to manage project needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience with requirements-based design and test to verify systems, along with participation in full product lifecycles within cross-functional teams.
• Skills: Clear understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, theories, and technical standards; proficiency with requirements management and system modeling tools; creative problem-solving; collaborative team player.
• Bonus: Department of Defense Secret security clearance (preferred at time of hire); Agile experience; experience with sensor interfaces, measurements, and data usage; background in Physics, core engineering, or computer science.
