The Tone:

This position is crucial for designing, planning, and activating upstream supply and inventory strategies, ensuring reliability, speed, and flexibility to enable sustainable growth for Target’s Owned Brands.

• Mission: Serve as a strategic leader shaping and activating collaborative supply plans that deliver speed, flexibility, reliability, and growth for Target Owned Brands.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Develop Upstream Supply Strategies: Design and activate upstream supply and inventory strategies that ensure surety of supply and enable faster response to risk signals.
• Lead Long Range and Capacity Planning: Deliver the 3-year Owned Brand plan, aligning merchant long-range plans with sourcing strategies and providing factory-level capacity visibility.
• Own Collaborative Supply Planning: Partner with PIM, Sourcing, and vendors to create upstream supply strategies, including order flow tactics and stocking strategies.
• Enable In-Season Visibility: Provide timely visibility to production status, call date milestones, lead times, constraints, risks, and WIP/finished goods positions.
• Deliver Performance Reporting & Insights: Create and maintain measurable Key Performance Indicators connected to speed, flexibility, reliability, and business impact.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, specializing in relevant fields such as sourcing, planning, inventory management, or supply planning.
• Experience: 6+ years in sourcing, planning, inventory management, and/or supply planning, with demonstrated ability to architect, optimize, and execute end-to-end supply strategies.
• Skills: Strategic thinking, strong problem-solving and critical thinking capability, proven cross-functional and global leadership with influencing ability, and excellent communication skills.
