Internship, Supply Chain (Fall 2026) | Tesla

The Tone:
This is an internship at Tesla, located across multiple sites including Fremont, CA; Lathrop, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Austin, TX; and Sparks, NV. Tesla is a company that designs and manufactures electric vehicles, battery energy storage, solar panels, and related products. This supply chain internship is essential for ensuring optimal supply chain operations, addressing a complex portfolio of challenges and supporting the company’s ambitious vision for material flow and distribution. Interns will contribute to critical functions that maintain high levels of compliance and efficiency within a large global network.

• Team: Supply Chain Management (across Purchasing, Planning, and Logistics teams)
• Mission: Implement and manage strategies to provide Tesla with optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance across its global operations.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, MS Teams), JIRA, Confluence, SQL, Tableau

What You’ll Actually Do
• Purchasing: Implement and manage strategies to provide optimal supply assurance, pricing, flexibility, quality, and delivery performance for assigned commodities.
• Planning: Lead efforts to develop material flow standards and principles for Tesla’s facilities and support supply chain planning operations to optimize efficiency.
• Logistics: Ensure partners receive excellent service throughout the shipment process, including timely documentation, booking, and problem resolution.
• Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with engineering teams and key suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Process Design: Craft processes and systems to efficiently move goods to and from hubs and destinations, and train teams on methodologies for a unified distribution handbook.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field.
• Experience: Working experience (inclusive of internships).
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communications; proficiency in Microsoft tools (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, MS Teams), JIRA, Confluence; fundamental understanding of key manufacturing processes.
• Bonus: Knowledge of SQL and Tableau; product management work experience.
