Job Description: Superintendent Intern

Role Summary:
ARCO is seeking a highly motivated College Superintendent Intern who is passionate about the construction process and eager to learn onsite. This internship offers a better way to build a career by providing immediate tools for success, meaningful responsibilities, and hands-on experience in a supportive environment. The intern will make a meaningful contribution to ARCO’s success by performing critical tasks throughout the project life cycle.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities (A Day in the Life):
The intern will have the opportunity to assist Superintendents and gain hands-on experience by:
• Working on job sites with expert field personnel.
• Engaging in projects across a diverse range of industries, including commercial, industrial, distribution, office, multi-family, and entertainment.
• Learning essential skills directly from the Superintendent on the job, such as:
• Creating project schedules.
• Communicating effectively with subcontractors.
• Managing projects smoothly from start to finish.
• Working collaboratively with the Superintendent on the job site.

Necessary Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or other related degree programs.
• Maintain a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Co-op or Intern construction experience is preferred, but not required.
• Possess excellent verbal communication skills and a strong work ethic.
• Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in your state of residence.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which include, but are not limited to:
• Standing or walking for long periods of time, occasionally on uneven terrain.
• Bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs.
• Lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds.
