This is a Summer Internship at OFS, offering a critical opportunity within our Information Technology (IT) department. This program is specifically designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience for individuals who are actively pursuing a career in information technology, with a particular focus on web and application development. As an intern, you will be immersed in a professional IT environment, working alongside experienced developers and contributing to meaningful projects. What You’ll Actually Do
• Web Development & Features: Actively support the web development team in the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of web applications and internal tools, assisting in the implementation of smaller features, enhancements, and bug fixes under guidance and mentorship.
• Team Engagement: Participate in key team activities such as team meetings, sprint planning sessions, and code reviews, leveraging these opportunities to understand development workflows and adhere to development standards.
• Quality & Testing: Help test and validate newly developed features to ensure they meet established quality standards and function as intended, thereby contributing to the overall reliability and performance of our applications.
• Coding Standards: Learn and apply best practices for writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, fostering good development habits from the outset, in alignment with team guidelines.
• User Experience & Documentation: Collaborate with designers and fellow developers to contribute ideas and efforts towards improving the overall user experience of our applications, and meticulously document your work to facilitate effective communication and future reference within the team’s knowledge base.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must currently be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a closely related field. This is an Early Career opportunity.
• Experience: Possess a basic understanding of core web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Skills: Exhibit a strong willingness to learn new technologies and concepts, demonstrate good problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail, and possess effective communication and collaborative teamwork abilities.
• Bonus: Prior exposure to any modern web framework (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) is a definite plus; familiarity with Git or general version control concepts will also be helpful.
