Job Description
The internship program at Salem Five Bank is a paid summer internship for college students completing their sophomore or junior years. The internship is a full-time assignment, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (2025 program dates are Tuesday, May 27, 2025 through Friday, August 8, 2025).
Internship Responsibilities:
• Work with members of the Salem Five Wealth Management & Trust team to gain a working knowledge of processes and the overall business operations of investment services in a mutual savings bank.
• Participate in Salem Five events and contribute to specific projects in progress.
• Join the team after completing an Intern Orientation on the first day.
Daily Work/Assignments:
• Compile client information for financial plans / client presentations
• Generate Morningstar Portfolio Analysis Reports
• Assist in operational support / account functions of support team
• Attend client meetings
• Participate in monthly meetings with investment managers
• Initiate the Daily Deposit Report
• Assist with client outreach / marketing efforts (Salesforce CRM)
Development Activities/Training:
• Participate in bi-weekly case studies with advisors to gain an understanding of how financial needs are being met.
• Attend group meetings.
Company Events:
• Participate in several company events including the Cancer Walk and Company Outing, as well as client events.
Intern Professional Development Opportunities:
• Liaise with different members of the organization and understand the business from a practitioner’s perspective.
• Develop job related skills.
• Participate in industry meetings or events.
