Job Description
This summer internship offers a hands-on experience in the food science industry. As an intern, you will be directly involved in the development and commercialization of new products, supporting Research Scientists and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Product Development:
• Follow production development processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to develop and commercialize new products.
• Prepare cheese, yogurt, and other product samples as requested by customers.
• Assist with new product scale-up pilot and plant trials, including formulation, weighing, cooking, recording, and reporting results.
• Develop work plans, conduct experiments, and write reports.
• Technical Support:
• Provide technical assistance to Research Scientists and staff, including ingredient screening, data analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with customer sample development, product applications, competitive evaluations, product improvement, and product transfers.
• Teamwork:
• Collaborate effectively with Research & Development (R&D) scientists, operations, marketing, engineering, and customers.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute your ideas.
• Serve as a valuable member of the R&D team.
Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer of 2025.
• Strong computer literacy, communication skills, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation is required.
