The Tone:
This is a paid summer internship at Inland Asphalt Co., a CRH company that has been a preferred source for quality rock products, concrete, asphalt paving, and construction services for over 80 years. This role offers a rich, hands-on learning experience where interns contribute to the organization while working under experienced supervision. It’s an opportunity to gain valuable insight into the construction industry and support various project functions.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $20/hr – $21/hr
• Team: Reports to an experienced supervisor/manager.
• Mission: Provide hands-on support for construction projects, assist with project coordination, and learn key industry processes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Coordination: Coordinate effectively with agencies, traffic control subcontractors, and superintendents to ensure smooth project flow.
• Site Preparation & Supervision: Assist in preparing job sites, coordinating work with subcontractors, and providing ongoing project supervision.
• Quantity Management: Track daily subcontract and prime contract quantities, assist with job quantity measurements, and support final billing quantity measurement.
• Material Testing: Perform various tests on aggregate production, asphalt mix, and ready-mix concrete, including gradation, moisture, oil content, density, and strength.
• Industry Learning: Gain practical knowledge by learning Estimating and Bid Tracking Software, reading specifications and plans, and assisting with data analysis for bid preparation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Construction Management or related program of study, entering Junior or Senior year.
• Experience: Must possess a current and valid driver’s license and be available to work approximately 40 hours per week.
• Skills: Detail-oriented with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions, multi-task, and prioritize workloads effectively.
