Job Description: Summer Internship Program
Smithfield Foods offers a paid summer internship program designed to provide students with real-world experience, career exploration, and application of their education. Interns participate in key management meetings, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain exposure to various company disciplines.
Program Details:
• Duration: 10 weeks (starting May 27th, 2025)
• Locations: Various locations across the country; potential travel opportunities.
• Mentorship: Interns will have mentored relationships.
• Responsibilities:
• Focus on assignments and projects within a specific track.
• Complete a Learning Plan to master identified skills and tasks.
• Attend team and customer meetings.
• Develop and execute processes and procedures to address challenges.
• Create formal proposals and presentations for various management levels.
• Participate in developmental training and workshops.
• Collaborate with other interns on a summer project.
• Present project findings to executive leadership, management, and peers at an end-of-summer presentation.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Major: Finance, Accounting, Agribusiness, or a related field.
• Education: Completion of sophomore year of college.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint; willingness to learn and work in a team environment; proactive thinking; self-motivation; strong time, project, and organizational management skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment; respectful, approachable, and team-oriented demeanor; ability to build strong working relationships and foster a positive work environment.
