This is a Spring 2028 Audit Internship at Jackson Thornton, with opportunities available across multiple locations including Montgomery, AL, Birmingham, AL, Dothan, AL, and Auburn, AL. Interns will commit approximately 30-40 hours per week in the office, aligning with the firm’s busy season demands.

What You’ll Actually Do

• Expand professional network: Participate in valuable networking opportunities, including engagements with the Jackson Thornton Young Professionals (JTYP) group, to build industry connections.
• Support client engagements: Travel to client locations as needed to provide essential support for audit engagements, gaining direct client interaction experience.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This is an entry-level position specifically for an accounting student who is actively pursuing or has already completed an undergraduate or Masters degree in accounting, preparing them for a professional career.
• Experience: Candidates must have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting I & II courses prior to the commencement of the internship, demonstrating foundational knowledge in accounting principles.
• Skills: A strong desire to pursue and obtain the CPA license, reflecting a commitment to professional growth in accounting; the ability to commit 30-40 hours per week to in-office work during the specified busy season internship period; willingness and availability to travel to client sites as needed to support audit engagements; and authorization to work in the United States after graduation, for potential full-time opportunities.
