This is a Summer internship position with DunlapSLK, an established public accounting firm. This role is specifically designed for students and aspiring professionals who are actively considering a career path in public accounting and are seeking valuable, direct exposure to the industry. As an Intern, you will be immersed in daily operations, gaining firsthand experience across various facets of accounting and tax work. The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Orientation & Training: Participate in a full and comprehensive orientation and training program specifically designed to introduce you to the practices and workflows of public accounting.
• Skill Development: Complete structured accounting and tax training exercises, applying foundational concepts under the direct mentorship of senior team members.
• Client Engagement Support: Provide direct assistance on “live” audit and tax engagements, contributing to real client projects across various industry specialties.
• Team Support & Projects: Complete other accounting-related projects and tasks as needed, offering essential support to the DunlapSLK team and its operational objectives.
• Firm & Community Involvement: Actively participate in firm events and charitable outreach activities, fostering professional connections and contributing to the community.

• Background: Entry-Level. This role is ideal for students or individuals who are actively considering or exploring a career path within public accounting.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required; this internship is designed to provide comprehensive, firsthand industry exposure.
• Skills: A strong, demonstrated interest in the public accounting industry and an eagerness to learn and apply fundamental accounting and tax principles.
• Bonus: An expressed intent or aspiration to pursue a CPA designation is beneficial, as the firm offers guidance and support for this professional goal.
