6 Week Internship Opportunity | Operations Intern: Projects & Assets | SolAmerica Energy

The Tone:
This is an internship at SolAmerica Energy, located in Atlanta, GA. SolAmerica Energy is a private equity-backed firm that develops, builds, owns, and operates distributed generation (DG) solar projects and energy storage solutions. Based in Atlanta, the company has successfully developed projects throughout the eastern half of the United States and possesses a growing pipeline across more than 20 states. This role offers a unique, hands-on educational experience in the operational phase of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic (PV) projects, primarily supporting Project Execution activities. The TL;DR

• Mission: To organize and optimize project documentation, perform essential financial analysis, and contribute to performance improvements within the operational phase of solar PV projects.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Implement Documentation Plan: Implement the Asset Management Document Management plan by migrating existing project files into the new SiteTracker protocol.
• Standardize Project Files: Perform bulk file management and rename project files to comply with updated standards.
• Organize Financial Documents: Organize and maintain essential documentation for financing purposes, including generation/revenue reports, corrective maintenance records, As-Built Drawings, warranty documents, and O&M reports.
• Support Financial Modeling: Support the team with financial modeling and general Excel-based analysis for various projects.
• Analyze Site Performance: Conduct technical analysis of “before and after” performance data related to solar module cleaning at the Carter Farms site, and develop a comprehensive case study analyzing the performance improvements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical) or Business (Finance, Economics, or a related field) at a student level.
• Experience: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work both collaboratively with a team and independently on self-directed projects; locally based in the Atlanta, GA area with the ability to commute to the office.
