Summer Internship in the Marketing Department

Location: Fort Worth, TX (Other Potential Locations: Fort Worth, TX)

Duration: June 9, 2025 – August 1, 2025

Number of Positions: 3

monthly Salary: $4,206

This paid internship offers students a chance to gain real-world marketing experience within the freight transportation sector. Interns will:

Work on strategic projects: Contribute to meaningful initiatives that enhance the customer experience, identify market trends, improve or grow business strategies, and create efficiencies in current processes.
Engage in market analysis: Develop an understanding of BNSF’s business strategies, relevant markets, and opportunities. Conduct research and analyze data to identify trends.
Learn Marketing systems: Gain knowledge of BNSF’s internal systems and applications, as well as current process flows.
Interact with teams and customers: Communicate effectively with colleagues, leaders, and customers.
Develop key skills: Enhance critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

Successful interns may be hired as full-time Management Trainees upon graduation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gain knowledge of the Marketing department, BNSF network, and internal systems.
• Lead projects within a Marketing business unit (Industrial Products, Agricultural Products or Consumer Products).
• Conduct research and analyze data to identify trends.
• Learn Marketing systems and process flows.
• Interact and communicate with teams, leaders, and customers.
• Create recommendations based on analysis.
• Identify and implement new process flows or automations.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, communication, adaptability, and resilience.

Working Conditions:

• Full-time, hybrid position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Split between office and remote work, with potential for weekend or evening work as needed.
• Minimal travel required. Reliable transportation is essential.
• Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.

Training:

• Two-day orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, including a company overview and networking opportunities.
• Ongoing project support and practical training within the department.

Applicants will be notified via email regarding interviews, testing, and hiring events.

Basic Qualifications:

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old upon hire.
• No sponsorship required for work authorization.
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain Management from an accredited university.
• Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Less than three years of professional work experience (excluding internships, part-time jobs, or positions held while pursuing undergraduate and/or graduate degrees).
• Reliable transportation access for the duration of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a Supply Chain related field.
• Held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Marketing (B2B) or Industrial Engineering.
