Position Summary: The WORLD Internship Program

The WORLD Internship Program is a comprehensive 10-week summer initiative designed to cultivate a pipeline of talented professionals ready to join our team post-graduation. As a Summer Intern, you will gain invaluable insight into the Insurance Industry and its diverse distribution models for Insurance Products.

This program offers a broad understanding of the entire insurance brokerage cycle, encompassing:

  • Identifying and accurately marketing risks.
  • Building effective service timelines.
  • Implementing service requests efficiently.
  • Navigating the renewal process.

For the duration of the summer, you will be strategically placed within our Commercial Lines department, providing hands-on experience in a core business area.

Primary Responsibilities

Working closely with our experienced team, you will contribute to the timely and accurate completion of critical tasks, including:

  • Processing the renewal of ID cards and various policy change requests.
  • Attaching carrier documents and issuing Certificates of Insurance.
  • Shadowing client calls and participating in Client Advisor or Carrier visits to observe professional interactions.
  • Engaging in data management work to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Undertaking additional tasks as assigned that will enhance your learning and benefit the team.

You will also play a vital role in fostering positive relationships with both clients and teammates by consistently delivering high levels of advocacy, excellent service, and professional communication.

  • Industry-Specific Learning: Access a self-paced online program provided by the Council for Insurance Agents and Brokers.
  • Networking & Social Events: Engage in fun networking, volunteer, and social events to connect with colleagues and leadership.
  • Skill Development: Participate in developmental workshops to hone essential professional skills.
  • Practical Experience: Learn how World helps clients improve financial performance while robustly protecting them from risk exposure.

Qualifications

To be considered for this enriching internship opportunity, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Must be enrolled in a business program at an accredited university or college and graduating in May 2027 or December 2026. (Graduates and students enrolled in Insurance and Risk Management programs are strongly preferred).
  • Work Location: Must be willing to work onsite, Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. (We do not offer remote internships).
  • Experience: Prior customer support experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Possess strong organizational/administrative and computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Interpersonal Skills: Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members. Self-motivated and driven.
  • Work Ethic: Maintain a sense of urgency and ability to work with and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, including the ability to actively listen and problem-solve with minimal assistance.
  • Adaptability: The ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information.
  • Professionalism: Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and positive attitude.

Compensation

The compensation for this internship is $23/hr.
