The Tone:
This is a Full-time Summer Internship at Newport News Shipbuilding, located in Newport News, VA. Newport News Shipbuilding is the sole designer, builder, and refueler of U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and a key provider of U.S. Navy nuclear submarines. This internship offers students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in their field of study within a critical industry, contributing to the development of the most powerful naval ships in the world. The program aims to provide an understanding of the business and potentially lead to future full-time employment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Gain hands-on experience in technical or administrative positions related to business, accounting, or finance.
• Work full-time for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer on a variety of assignments aligned with your major.
• Develop an understanding of the shipbuilding industry and core business operations within a large industrial employer.
• Contribute to ongoing projects and initiatives, applying academic knowledge in a professional environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Enrollment in a 4-year college/university (or a 2+2 program) or a master’s degree program for Fall 2027, majoring in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• Experience: A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Skills: Ability to upload unofficial transcripts at the time of application for qualification review.
