Job Title: Summer Intern
Summary of the Role:
As a Summer Intern at Ryerson, you will be responsible for learning the daily operational transactions of the company. The program aims to provide comprehensive exposure to the business processes, with the hope that you will consider returning as a full-time employee if an opportunity arises.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Spend dedicated time with various departments to gain a holistic understanding of all important business aspects.
• Operate within established procedures, performing tasks with a moderate degree of supervision.
• Undertake specific projects focused on identifying opportunities for process improvements across different areas of the business.
• Collaborate individually and with department leads to develop and implement solutions for identified improvements.
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed with both speed and accuracy.
• Learn and master the quoting and order entry processes.
• Handle sales calls, effectively meeting customer demands and providing satisfactory service.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management and supervisors.

Requirements:
• Education: Must currently be working towards a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Experience (Preferred): Prior sales or industry experience is preferred.
• Communication Skills: Excellent professional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required.
• Technical Proficiency: Proficiency within Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is required.
• Adaptability: Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
• Personal Attributes: Must possess a positive attitude, be competitive, goal-oriented, driven with a passion to excel, flexible, and solutions-oriented.
Salary:
The salary for this position ranges from $17 to $23 hourly. A starting salary higher than $17 hourly is contingent upon a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and will be commensurate with the company’s compensation scale.
