Job Description: Summer Chemical Engineering Internship – Geismar, LA
This is a Summer Chemical Engineering Internship opportunity located in Geismar, LA. The program is designed for highly motivated undergraduate students to gain practical experience within a major production facility.
Program Summary:
• Duration: A 10 to 12-week summer internship program.
• Exposure: Interns will gain exposure to the leadership, technical, and scientific aspects of plant engineering, including work in safety and environmental areas to uphold company standards.
• Projects: Interns will utilize their chemical engineering knowledge to complete various engineering projects, fostering the development of both technical and professional skills.
• Presentation: Upon completion, interns will have the opportunity to present their summer project to other interns, BASF employees, and senior leaders.
• Future Opportunities: The internship offers the opportunity for consideration of future roles within the organization.
• Potential Start Date: End of May/Beginning of June 2026.

Application Process:
• If selected, candidates will participate in a 45-minute interview with BASF representatives on-site at the Geismar location.
Requirements:
• Education: Undergraduate and graduate students majoring in Chemical Engineering.
• Academic Standing: Specifically College Sophomores and Juniors (April 2027-July 2028 graduates).
• GPA: Demonstrated academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without restrictions or the need for future sponsorship.
• Experience & Skills:
• Demonstrated previous leadership experience and academic achievement.
• Active participation in extracurricular activities and on-campus organizations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Outstanding work ethic and leadership potential.
• Previous internship/co-op experience is a plus.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
Pay Transparency:
• The competitive pay range for this role is $2,000 – $2,320 on a biweekly basis. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
