Job Description:
Reed Smith LLP is seeking 2L candidates for its 2026 Summer Associate Program in the Chicago office. The program is designed to give summer associates a realistic view of associate life and help them develop essential legal skills.
Key Features of the Program:
• Mentorship: Partner and associate mentors provide support and guidance.
• Writing Instruction: Writing instructors help hone analytical and persuasive writing skills.
• Learning & Development Summer Academy: Supplement on-the-job training with courses such as:
• Essentials of Effective Legal Writing
• AI and Practical Law Training
• Effective Presentation Skills
• Social Activities: Opportunities to get to know future colleagues and summer associate classmates.
Required Application Materials:

• Legal writing sample

Compensation:
• $4,327 per week
