Job Description:

Reed Smith LLP is seeking exceptional 2L candidates for their 2026 Summer Associate Program in their Austin office within the Life Sciences Health Industry Practice. This program is designed to provide a realistic snapshot of associate life and develop necessary legal skills.

Key Aspects of the Program:

Mentorship: Partner and associate mentors will provide support and guidance.
Writing Development: Writing instructors will help hone analytical and persuasive writing skills.
Learning & Development Summer Academy: Supplement on-the-job training with courses like Essentials of Effective Legal Writing, AI and Practical Law Training, and Effective Presentation Skills.
Networking: Social activities will provide opportunities to connect with future colleagues and summer associate classmates.

Responsibilities:

Summer associates will gain experience representing clients from various segments of the life sciences and health care industry, including:

• Strategic investors
• Manufacturers of drugs and devices
• Retail and pharmacies
• Acute and specialty hospitals
• Long-term care and post-acute providers
• Digital health and innovative health technology entities

Compensation:

The expected compensation is $4,327 per week.
