Summer 2027 – Finance Internship | CesiumAstro

The Tone:
This is an internship at CesiumAstro, located in Austin, TX. CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms, building out-of-the-box solutions. This role offers real-world exposure to finance and accounting in a growing company, directly supporting various departments and business transactions. Due to United States Government Space Technology Export Regulations, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual, or eligible to obtain necessary authorizations.

The TL;DR

What You’ll Actually Do
• Assist: Support month-end closing, financial reporting processes, analyzing expenses and accruals, and maintaining accounting records.
• Compile: Prepare variance financial analyses, including quarterly financial statements and cash flow models.
• Support: Contribute to cross-department and cross-functional projects that impact accounting and financial reporting, working closely with teams like Supply Chain and Operations.
• Develop: Get exposure to creating and improving business processes, implementing internal controls, and ensuring the company meets audit and compliance requirements.
• Execute: Complete ad-hoc finance projects, accounting research, and other day-to-day tasks as needed.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) program in Finance or Accounting from an accredited university.
• Experience: Entry-Level.
• Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent attention to detail and accuracy, strong communication and interpersonal skills, proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Bonus: Experience with an ERP system (e.g., Acumatica, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle), data science or business analytic software, or knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
