• Mission: Assist and support accounting or audit project teams by performing tests, reviewing documents, and preparing documentation to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of client data and reports.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide Support: Offer assistance and support to the accounting or audit project team under the supervision of senior personnel.
• Analyze Data: Obtain, analyze, and evaluate data from the client to perform tests that substantiate transactions, records, and reports.
• Review Documentation: Examine documents, transactions, records, reports, and methods to ensure their accuracy and effectiveness.
• Prepare Reports: Compile sufficient documentation to support work performed, including detailed workpapers and summarized data reports.
• Report Progress: Communicate task progress and status updates effectively to senior staff, managers, or principals.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently in Junior or Senior status at a college or university, actively engaged in an accounting, cost accounting, or auditing program.
• Experience: An interest in pursuing CPA credentials and an interest in federal auditing and/or federal consulting.
• Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board (FASAB) Statements, Government Accountability Office’s (GAO’s) Government Auditing Standards (GAS), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ (AICPA’s) AU-Cs, GAO/Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Financial Audit Manual (FAM), GAO Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Bulletin 24-02, and other federal reporting and accounting requirements like the U.S. Standard General Ledger (USSGL).
