Job Title: Summer 2026 Software Engineering Internship
Location: Parsippany, NJ (On-Site)
Term: Summer 2026
Business Unit: Power and Actuation Systems

About The Program:
This internship offers the opportunity to elevate embedded software development skills by applying coding and problem-solving abilities to projects in design, production, quality, and test engineering for aerospace and defense applications. Interns will gain exposure to real-world software validation, collaborate with hardware and systems engineers, and present their work to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support embedded software development, testing, and integration for aerospace systems.
  • Utilize development lab equipment (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, JTAG emulation) for hardware/software integration.
  • Assist with automation, simulation, and validation tools.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and test reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to optimize solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and apply coding best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related program.
  • Solid programming knowledge using C/C++.
  • Coursework or hands-on experience programming microcontrollers or microprocessors using direct hardware interfaces with real-time constraints.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Interest in aerospace/defense applications and real-world system integration.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Availability to work full-time onsite beginning June 2026.

Work Environment:
The role involves interaction in both a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. Standard office equipment will be used, and appropriate eye, hearing, and foot protection may be required in certain areas.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • May be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $18 – $24/hr (determined by school year).
  • Relocation assistance will not be provided.
  • Employment is conditioned on U.S. citizenship and/or obtaining any required export licenses due to contract requirements.
