The ERCOT Internship Program provides college students with the opportunity to develop skills in a technical, fast-paced, professional setting. Interns receive assignments and projects designed to address real challenges within the electric industry. This program also allows students to work alongside ERCOT employees and experience being part of a team. Throughout the internship, ERCOT leaders evaluate interns’ capabilities and compatibility with ERCOT’s mission, vision, and values.

Education Requirements:

  • Computer Science or business degree candidate preferred.
  • Eligible candidates must be enrolled in an academic bachelor’s or postgraduate degree program.
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have completed sophomore year.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Documentation and Process Improvements:
    • Document Power Automate workflows and logs.
    • Develop methods to separate and prioritize training logs.
    • Implement code enhancements in the test environment.
    • Participate in testing the deployment of on-prem Microsoft Project Server.
    • Reverse-engineer selected Power BI reports.
  • Operations Support:
    • Load engagements in Microsoft Project Online.
    • Assess resource capacity for proposed project starts, potentially utilizing AI.
    • Use Fluentbooks to back up a production project and restore it to the test environment.
    • Engage in other special projects within Portfolio Management.

Project Deliverable:

  • Workflow Documentation and Process Improvements

Work Location: Taylor, TX

  • Interns will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on business requirements determined by management.

Program Details:

  • This is a full-time internship for the Summer of 2026.
  • The program will run from the start of June through the second week of August.

Expected Salary Range: $23 – $39 per hour
