Job Description
Job Title: Summer 2026 Internship – Design Intern

About The Team: The Trust, Custom Content from The Wall Street Journal
This internship is with The Trust, an award-winning, full-service branded content studio that operates under The Wall Street Journal. The creative team within The Trust comprises diverse specialists including Art Directors, Videographers, Producers, Developers, Editors, and Strategists. The team collaborates with advertising partners across various industries, from technology to automotive, to produce content that mirrors the integrity and quality standards of Dow Jones’ newsrooms. Their work encompasses a wide range of formats, including reported articles, immersive digital experiences, short- and long-form video, high-impact digital ads, print campaigns, and event activations. The Trust’s portfolio includes The Wall Street Journal, WSJ. Magazine, MarketWatch, and Barron’s.
About The Role
The Design Intern role within The Trust supports designers and other creatives in producing visually compelling design materials for various platforms, including digital, print, social, and event initiatives. The intern will contribute to both internal marketing efforts and client projects. This position offers significant hands-on experience and exposure to the operations of an in-house design studio. This is a hybrid role, requiring the intern to be based in the New York City office.
Key Responsibilities (You Will):
• Support and shadow Art Directors on daily projects and initiatives.
• Assist in developing design assets for internal requests and client work, ranging from presentations to invitations.
• Contribute to layout, image sourcing, and file preparation for the design team.
• Help adapt creative concepts across social media, web, and event platforms.
• Participate in client campaign brainstorms, providing fresh ideas and design perspectives.
Qualifications (You Have):
• Education: Completed at least two years toward a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BFA) in graphic, digital, visual, or brand design.
• Academic Standing: By Summer 2026, you must be a rising junior or rising senior in your undergraduate program.
• Interests: A strong passion for color, typography, graphic design, and web design.
• Work Ethic: Detail-oriented, highly motivated, capable of working both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
• Skills: Strong organizational, time management, communication, and multitasking abilities.
• Software Proficiency:
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Experience in Figma.
• Familiar with Google Workspace (e.g., Slides, Docs) and Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Word).
• Bonus Skills (A Plus): Experience in video/motion design (e.g., After Effects, Premiere) or web development (e.g., CSS, HTML, WordPress).
Compensation:
• Salary: $25.00 per hour.
