About This Position:
Waystar is seeking a dynamic, energetic intern eager to learn about the company and the healthcare payments industry. The ideal candidate will be looking to enhance their career and expand their skill set, gaining insight into a dynamic and evolving industry. This unique experience will provide professional development skills and first-hand knowledge of a niche within the software and healthcare industry. Interns will assist with a variety of tasks, including project management, change management, performing detailed analytics, and generating insights to assist leaders in making key business decisions.
What You’ll Do (General Intern Responsibilities):
• Understand and live Waystar’s values.
• Attend meetings and professional development training.
• Fulfill tasks set out by the manager from your respective department.
• Perform in-depth research and analysis as needed.
• Assist with reports and tasks.
• Must be able to work 20-30 hours a week.
• Complete a final project and present it to manager, buddy, and others.
What You’ll Get Out of This Internship (Specific Project Focus):
The internship revolves around “Business Transformation.” The intern will:
• Be a part of multiple projects within the company.
• Prepare decks, facilitate meetings, and ensure teams are staying on track.
• Gain experience in Project Management.
• Broaden their overall Business experience.
• Focus on building two core competencies.
What You’ll Need (Qualifications):
• Currently a Junior or Senior in college.
• Possess a 3.2 or above GPA.
• Actively involved on campus and/or in the community.
• Majors/Minors: Open to various fields of study.
• Demonstrated interest in healthcare and/or project management.
• Curiosity to go deeper into projects given.
• Ability to adapt and pivot with competing priorities and/or deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
