About the Internship Program
INB Bank’s Summer 2026 Finance & Credit Internship offers a unique opportunity for high-performing undergraduate students to gain hands-on exposure to the core functions of commercial banking. This program focuses on credit underwriting and relationship management within a growing, privately held national bank.
This is not an observational program. Interns are integral, embedded members of the banking team, actively contributing to real transactions, performing genuine analysis, and participating in decision-making processes alongside senior credit officers, relationship managers, and executive leadership.
What You Will Do (Key Responsibilities)
As a Finance/Credit Intern, you will gain broad exposure across INB’s core banking functions, including:
- Credit analysis and underwriting support for commercial loans.
- Performing financial statement analysis and cash flow modeling.
- Conducting industry, market, and borrower research to support credit decisions.
- Assessing risk and assisting with credit memorandum preparation.
- Collaborating with Relationship Managers, Risk Associates, Wealth Management, and Cash Management teams.
- Participating actively in internal meetings and deal discussions.
- Completing a dedicated capstone project designed to deliver tangible value and actionable insights to senior leadership.
What You Will Learn
This internship is structured to provide comprehensive learning experiences, including:
- A deep understanding of how commercial credit decisions are evaluated and approved.
- Insights into how balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows drive lending outcomes.
- Methods banks use to assess borrower risk, industry dynamics, and collateral structures.
- Practical knowledge of how relationship-driven banking operates in growth markets like Florida.
- Developing skills to communicate financial analysis clearly and professionally.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program (rising sophomore through senior).
- Preferred Majors: Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.
- Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency strongly preferred).
- Foundational understanding of financial statements and cash flow analysis.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.
