Job Description: Summer 2025 Digital Marketing Intern (Workman Running Press Group)

This internship at Hachette Book Group’s Workman Running Press Group offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing within the publishing industry. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the book lifecycle and various aspects of digital marketing.

Program Details:

Dates: June 2nd, 2025 – August 7th, 2025
Location: New York City office (hybrid schedule: three days per week in office)
Hours: 28 hours per week (Monday-Thursday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm)
Pay: $16.50/hour
Company Provided: Laptop

Responsibilities: The intern will support the Digital Marketing team across several imprints (Workman, Workman Kids, Artisan, and Black Dog & Leventhal), gaining exposure to diverse industry niches. Responsibilities include:

Email Marketing: Assisting with newsletter campaigns, including copywriting, creation, and ideation.
Paid Social Media Campaigns: Assisting with content creation (social media assets, video scripts, ad copy).
E-commerce: Assisting in building online stores for promotional campaigns.
Reporting: Assisting with monthly digital marketing reports.
Meetings & Collaboration: Attending departmental meetings and contributing ideas.
Content Creation: Passion for producing social media content (filming, editing videos, creating graphics) is crucial.

Qualifications:

Interest in digital marketing: Emphasis on email marketing, digital advertising, and light digital asset creation.
Interest in diverse nonfiction:** Exploring adult and children’s nonfiction is desired.
Organizational Skills:** Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Content Creation Skills:** Passion for producing social media content, including video filming and editing, and graphic creation.
Technical Skills (Preferred):** Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Capcut, Canva, and email service providers (ESPs) like Mailchimp or Braze.
Communication Skills:** Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptability:** Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Ability to learn new software.
Time Management:** Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
Teamwork:** Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Positive Attitude:** Excitement for contributing to a positive work environment.
