Job Description: Summer 2025 Airframe Structures Intern
Location: Stratford, CT
Duration: Full-time, Summer 2025
Job ID: 675883BR
Mission: As an Airframe Structures Intern, you will contribute to ensuring the structural integrity of aircraft systems to exceed customer expectations for mission success.
Responsibilities:
• Perform structural and modal analysis.
• Engage in structural design.
• Support fatigue and static testing.
• Collaborate with Design Engineers, Material and Process Engineers, Test Engineers, and suppliers.
• Drive designs to closure.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Engineering Software Tools (3D/2D CAD).
• Basic knowledge of finite element analysis.
• Ability to work full-time on-site at the Stratford, CT facility.
• US Citizenship.
Desired:
• Proficiency with CATIA V5, 3DX, ANSYS, NASTRAN.
• Ability to conduct structural analysis from first principles using free body diagrams and classical closed-form equations.
• Ability to create tools to streamline complex engineering tasks (VB Macros, Python, Matlab, etc.).
• Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.

• Work Schedule: 4×10 hour day, 3 days off per week

• Remote Work: On-site full-time
