About the Role

The Mechanical Engineering Intern position is a seasonal or temporary role designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience within a collaborative engineering environment. Interns contribute to a variety of active projects while focusing on specific aspects of project work, allowing them to build a strong technical foundation within their discipline. Interns are integrated into project teams and work alongside experienced engineers who provide guidance, mentorship, and support throughout the internship. This role offers exposure to real project conditions, including design development, coordination, and construction-related activities. The position is structured to support ongoing learning and professional growth while contributing to the successful delivery of projects.

What You’ll Do
• Assist senior engineering staff in the execution of technical activities required for assigned projects, supporting the overall design and delivery process.
• Participate in technical studies, investigations, and engineering design efforts related to mechanical systems under supervision.
• Assist in the execution of design processes on assigned projects, seeking guidance from senior technical staff as needed to ensure accuracy and understanding.
• Develop a foundational understanding of mechanical engineering design and analysis, with a demonstrated ability to learn and grow within the discipline.
• Support the design team in preparing engineering drawings, models, and documentation using tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Assist in coordinating mechanical system designs with other disciplines to ensure alignment and integration across project teams.
• Contribute to the production of project deliverables, helping ensure that work is completed on time, within budget expectations, and with a high level of technical quality.
• Learn and apply company technical policies, procedures, and standards during the execution of project work.
• Promote adherence to established office standards and processes in all assigned tasks.
• Support quality efforts by maintaining accuracy, organization, and consistency in all deliverables.
• Accompany senior technical staff on site visits and inspections during construction to gain exposure to real world applications of design.
• Observe and learn how to communicate design intent and requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers.
• Assist with documenting site observations and understanding how field conditions are evaluated and addressed.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary project team, supporting team members in accomplishing assigned tasks.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through reliability, responsiveness, and a willingness to learn.
• Apply strong verbal and written communication skills in day to day interactions and project-related tasks.
• Demonstrate problem solving and analytical thinking when supporting engineering tasks and assignments.
• Utilize Microsoft Office programs to assist with documentation, organization, and communication of project information.

You’re a Good Fit If You
• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Are highly organized with strong attention to detail and a a conscientious approach to assigned work.
• Are developing proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
• Have strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Have strong presentation skills and the ability to clearly communicate ideas.
• Demonstrate a professional presence through competence, reliability, honesty, integrity, respect for others, positivity, and thoughtful listening.
• Have the ability to learn quickly, follow direction, and apply feedback to improve performance.
