HR Intern – Data and Reporting | Akron Children’s

The Tone:
This is a Part-Time, Onsite internship at Akron Children’s, a 5,248-person organization, specializing in pediatric healthcare. This role is crucial for supporting the Human Resources department by providing administrative assistance, research, and analytical contributions. The intern will gain valuable exposure to employee relations practices within a healthcare environment. This position contributes to initiatives focused on workplace trends, employee experience, and quality improvement.

The TL;DR

• Type: Part-Time, Monday – Friday, 32-40 hours per week

• Mission: This role supports the Human Resources department by assisting with data collection, reporting, policy research, and documentation to contribute to projects focused on workplace trends, employee experience, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office Suite (Office, Word, Excel), HRIS systems, other HR-related technologies

What You’ll Actually Do
• Provide administrative support and assist with employee relations initiatives within the Human Resources department.
• Conduct research and analysis to support various HR department projects.
• Assist with data collection, reporting, policy research, and documentation tasks.
• Maintain confidential electronic records, files, and case documentation with integrity and professionalism.
• Contribute to projects focused on workplace trends, employee experience, and quality improvement initiatives.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Student, currently enrolled in a Human Resources or related degree program.
• Experience: Demonstrates appropriate professional behavior, judgment, and appearance in a healthcare environment, with an understanding of employment laws, HR policies, and ethical standards.
• Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, ability to learn and navigate HRIS systems, demonstrated accuracy in data entry and record maintenance, discretion, reliability, and sound judgment.
• Bonus: Expresses a strong interest in Human Resources and the healthcare environment.
