Job Description (Detailed)

Job Profile Summary & Overview:

This role is primarily focused on supporting the career development of employees within Tufts Medicine. This involves the development of education, training curricula, materials, and programs designed to support both current and future talent needs of the organization.

In addition to talent development, a significant part of this role involves Student Education duties. The individual will be involved in continuing clinical training and providing exceptional patient care, specifically in areas of education for:
• Residents
• Fellows
• Pharmacy
• Imaging
• Medical students
• Bachelor’s level interns

This is described as an organizational related support or service role (administrative or clerical), or a role focused on supporting daily business activities (technical, clinical, non-clinical) in a “hands-on” environment. The majority of time will be spent delivering support services or activities, typically under supervision. It is an entry-level role, generally requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience. The work is characterized as routine or following standard procedures, closely supervised, and involves communicating information that requires little explanation.

Specifically, as a Student Intern, the individual will work under the supervision of a faculty member on a defined project that aligns with educational goals. The specific tasks and learning objectives will be mutually defined by the student and the faculty member.

Minimum Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Physical Requirements:

Lifting/Moving: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
Sedentary Role: Primarily a sedentary role, involving sitting most of the time.
Movement: May involve movements such as walking, standing, reaching, ascending/descending stairs, and operating office equipment.
Communication: Frequently required to speak, hear, communicate, and exchange information.
Vision: Ability to see and read computer displays, read fine print, and/or normal type size print, and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.

Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel computer applications.
Organizational and Technical Skills: Excellent and meticulous organizational and technical skills are of utmost importance.
Documentation Skills: Strong documentation skills are required.
Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Work Style: Ability to work independently, under supervision, and as part of a team.
