The Ada County Highway District (ACHD) is seeking a Student Intern to work in the Materials Laboratory. This is a paid internship at $16.00 per hour.
Job Description:
This internship provides hands-on experience in Engineering and Construction Materials. The Intern will assist in sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete to assure minimum District standards and specifications in both field and laboratory settings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in sampling and testing of soils, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete.
Qualifications:
• Experience and/or knowledge of basic construction and engineering construction practices and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of materials used in construction and roadway development.
• Must be organized and have the ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform written work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Construction Management or Civil Engineering major is preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age and have a valid Driver’s License.
Additional Information:
• Open to full-time students only.
• Flexible schedule: Maximum of 24 hours per week during the school year, and 40 hours per week during school breaks.
