This is an opportunity for a Structural Engineering Intern position with Collins, located in Denver, CO, for Fall 2025.
Job Type: Internship (for civil engineering students)
Work Environment: The position is a combination of office and field work.
Key Responsibilities & Project Exposure:
• Gain experience in structural inspections.
• Work on a variety of projects, including:
• Ancillary Roadway Structure Inspection
• Bridge Inspection
• Civil/Site Development
• Utilize computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Qualifications:
• Education: Must be a junior or senior working towards a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• Software Experience (a plus):
• AutoCAD
• MicroStation
• Blue Beam
• Civil 3D
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Adobe PDF or other PDF editing software
• Licensing: Possess a valid driver’s license.
Physical Demands (Essential Functions):
• Regularly required to: sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to: walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Lifting: May be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Vision Abilities: Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Field Work Conditions: When in the field, the employee may be required to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand up to eight hours or more at a time.
