Associate, New Verticals – Flex Strategy & Operations | DoorDash

The Tone:
This is a full-time, individual contributor role at DoorDash, located in New York or San Francisco with a hybrid work model. DoorDash is a technology and logistics company focused on expanding local commerce beyond food delivery to include grocery, convenience, alcohol, and retail goods. This role is crucial for driving high-priority initiatives across these new verticals, directly impacting growth, operations, and the overall customer, merchant, and Dasher experience with significant and rapid impact.

• Mission: This person will identify, lead, and execute high-priority initiatives across DoorDash’s new verticals, from launching pilots and optimizing operations to driving key metrics.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operate: Initiate and scale new 0→1 pilots, establish and manage week-over-week KPIs, and transform successful wins into scalable processes.
• Launch: Introduce net-new merchants, experiment with new initiatives, and conduct in-market tests for various product offerings.
• Analyze: Develop models using Excel and SQL to evaluate expansion opportunities and strategically prioritize future investments.
• Build: Translate consumer, merchant, and Dasher needs into actionable product requirements, operational improvements, and tangible outcomes.
• Collaborate: Partner with and lead diverse cross-functional teams across product, engineering, finance, marketing, and other strategy & operations functions.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a relevant analytical field.
• Experience: 1-2+ years of experience, ideally in highly analytical and cross-functional cultures such as banking or consulting.
• Skills: Proficient in SQL for data extraction and analysis, advanced Excel for model building, strong data analysis capabilities, and demonstrated cross-functional collaboration.
• Bonus: Comfortable with rapid change and ambiguity inherent in startup environments, adaptable to new tools and efficient methods, including the application of AI.
