Store Executive Intern (Store Leadership Intern) | Target

The Tone:
This is a paid, full-time internship at Target, located in Oklahoma City, OK, starting Summer 2027. Target helps all families discover the joy of everyday life, a vision brought to life through its values and culture. This internship offers a hands-on training program designed to develop and prepare individuals for store leadership, specifically providing a valuable and realistic preview of the Executive Team Leader (Assistant Store Manager) role. It aims to teach individuals how to lead within a retail store environment.

• Pay: $25–$26 hourly
• Team: Works closely with other managers and team members, mentored by an Executive Team Lead (ETL). Reports to store leadership.
• Mission: Provides hands-on training to develop and prepare individuals for retail store leadership, focusing on driving guest experience and operational performance.
• Tech Stack: handheld scanners, other technology equipment, multiple frequency devices

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drive guest experience and impact your store’s financial, team, and operational performance.
• Lead and motivate a team, drive sales results, merchandise products, and provide an exceptional experience for guests.
• Lead and support the execution of daily operations by working with team members to build culture and guide them to achieve goals.
• Partner with leaders regarding team member performance by teaching, coaching, training, and delivering timely feedback.
• Review business reporting and guest insights to understand, troubleshoot, and follow up on opportunity areas.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Strong interest in working in retail, specifically within stores in a management capacity.
• Experience: Leadership skills and team-oriented thinking, with a welcoming and helpful attitude.
• Skills: Effective communication skills, ability to learn and adapt to current technology needs, and capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Bonus: Previous retail experience preferred.
