Financial Analyst, Store Finance | Ross Stores, Inc.

The Tone:
This is a hybrid role at Ross Stores, Inc., located in Dublin, CA. Ross Stores, Inc. is a Fortune 500 off-price retail chain operating over 2,200 stores, focused on providing high-quality brands and on-trend merchandise at extraordinary savings. This role is crucial for managing critical financial processes for the Store Operations team, including month-end close, forecast, budget, and 5-year planning, thereby supporting informed discussions and decision-making across the company.

• Team: Reports to the Manager of Store Finance
• Mission: Manage critical financial processes for the Store Operations team including month-end close, forecast, budget, and 5-year planning.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.); Access Database experience desired

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Support: Provide financial support for Store Operations’ Expense and Capital spend, maintaining strong financial controls and forecast accuracy.
• Forecasting: Perform monthly capital and expense forecasting activities for both new and existing stores, including reconciling, consolidating, and submitting forecast changes.
• Strategic Planning: Assist with the Store Operations Annual Budget and 5 Year Plan processes, reviewing templates, validating assumptions, and identifying risks and opportunities.
• Executive Reporting: Prepare reports and materials for Leadership and Executive reviews to support informed discussions and decision-making.
• Ad-hoc Analysis: Lead and support ad-hoc analysis, scenario analysis, and reporting requests, coordinating with management for alignment and accuracy.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in an analytical field.
• Experience: Minimum 2-4 years of relevant work experience, with planning and forecasting experience desirable.
• Skills: Strong analytical ability to synthesize data, error check, reconcile work, and design analyses; Expertise with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.); Clear understanding of basic financial concepts; Detail-oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timeliness; Ability to effectively communicate and partner with multiple levels of internal contacts.
• Bonus: Access Database experience desired.
