Store Director | Target

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership role at Target, located in the Greater Cincinnati area. Target aims to help all families discover the joy of everyday life by investing in its team members and fostering a culture of support. This role is critical as it involves leading a large team to bring that vision to life for guests, ensuring a profitable and growing business.

• Team: Leads a large team of hourly team members and other leaders across all store departments

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Talent and Culture: Cultivate a guest-centric and engaged team by leading talent development, driving accountability through clear expectations, and fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Drive Business Performance: Own the store’s overall business to drive efficiency, safety, and grow sales through strategic planning, financial accountability, and operational excellence.
• Ensure Guest Experience: Lead a guest-obsessed culture across in-store and digital channels, ensuring teams inform, educate, and promote Target’s offerings to enhance the shopping experience.
• Manage Operations and Compliance: Build and execute plans for efficient operations, lead shortage reduction efforts, ensure safety and security, and maintain a culture of ethical conduct and compliance.
• Strategic Decision Making: Make informed business decisions by assessing market competition, leveraging guest insights and feedback, and building relationships within the local community.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A 4-year degree or equivalent experience is required for this director-level position.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience leading and developing large teams, including leaders and hourly team members; managing retail business financials to drive sales growth and total store profitability; creating and executing store-specific strategies; and applying retail business fundamentals such as inventory management and sales trends.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven team leadership and engagement capabilities; robust cognitive skills including problem analysis, decision making, and financial/quantitative analysis; ability to manage conflict and hold others accountable; and capability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently in a fast-paced environment.
