Store Clerk I | Georgia State University

This role is crucial in supporting the PantherDining Hall’s operations by efficiently managing inventory, ensuring the smooth flow of products to serve the university community.

• Mission: This person is responsible for managing inventory processes to ensure efficient operations and product availability within the PantherDining Hall.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Receiving & Handling: Receive, inspect, unload, and accurately record all incoming items.
• Inventory Management: Identify inventoried items with appropriate labeling, assist in setting up pre-inventory sheets, and adhere to the FIFO inventory method.
• Order Fulfillment: Pull, stage, deliver, and complete necessary transfer paperwork for products destined for various campus locations.
• Clerical Support: Perform essential clerical duties such as filing purchase orders, preparing requisitions for new stock items, and reconciling all inventory discrepancies with management.
• Stock Monitoring: Count inventory in stock, post counts to inventory records, and check levels to ensure required products are available for regular business and pandemic planning needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Others. High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: No specific years required; previous Store Clerk experience is preferred.
• Skills: Valid Georgia driver’s license, proficiency in inventory management (including FIFO method), meticulous record keeping, and ability to handle clerical documents.
• Bonus: Physical ability to perform extended standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing ladders; capacity to lift 35 pounds; ability to work in all temperature conditions; and a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
