What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Support thousands of students nationally with their graduate-level statistics studies.
• Instruction: Prepare students for research methodology and doctoral-level statistical analysis.
• Explain: Break down complex concepts such as likelihood function derivations, posterior distribution calculations, and ANOVA decompositions.
• Guide: Guide students through designing experiments, performing multivariate analysis, constructing confidence regions, and implementing statistical models in software.
• Adapt: Adapt instruction using R or Python statistical computing, relevant research paper examples, and proof-based exercises.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Graduate-level understanding and mastery of advanced statistics, covering topics like mathematical statistics, Bayesian inference, and asymptotic theory.
• Experience: Experience in conceptual teaching and problem-solving, with the ability to guide students through advanced statistical applications and emphasize theoretical foundations.
• Skills:
* Deep understanding of maximum likelihood estimation, sufficient statistics, hypothesis testing theory, regression analysis, multivariate methods, experimental design, nonparametric statistics, Neyman-Pearson lemma, and generalized linear models.
* Ability to identify common student struggles and explain material using multiple approaches, connecting advanced statistics to applications in various research fields.
* Strong communication skills, an engaging teaching style, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs.
• Bonus: Familiarity with graduate statistics curricula and common challenges students face, including measure-theoretic probability foundations and interpreting complex model outputs, along with proficiency in R or Python for statistical computing.
